PRI-8660 is a newly designed distributed system for measuring net ecosystem exchange. Increasing the number of monitoring sites without limiting the monitoring radius and the simultaneous synchronous measurements can help reduce uncertainties in net ecosystem exchange studies. Smart, real-time, and low-cost distributed monitoring of net ecosystem exchange is essential for understanding and managing rapidly changing ecosystems.
Compared with the conventional multiplexer-coupled net ecosystem exchange measurement system, each PRI-8660 is a standalone node, has a full function to measure the net ecosystem exchange of each site, and connects via wireless networks.
