RhizoScan Root Imager Series
In-Situ Root Imaging Platforms for Field Phenotyping and Ecological Research
The RhizoScan Root Imager Series is a next-generation platform for non-destructive in-situ root system observation and long-term underground root monitoring. Designed for plant physiology, soil ecology, and ecosystem research, the system enables high-resolution 360° imaging of root development dynamics in natural soil environments.
The platform adopts a fully integrated field-native architecture combining imaging optics, embedded control, wireless communication, power management, and a browser-based interface into a single compact system, enabling fully cable-free field operation without external computing devices.
The RhizoScan Series is available in two performance tiers to support both routine field phenotyping and advanced fine-scale root structural research.

RhizoScan Root Imager
Robust Platform for Routine Field Root Phenotyping
The RhizoScan Root Imager is designed for high-throughput root observation in field and teaching environments. It provides stable imaging performance for standard root morphology analysis and ecological monitoring applications where scalability and operational efficiency are critical.
The system delivers effective spatial sampling resolution equivalent to 600 DPI and is optimized for reproducible 360° root imaging under field conditions.
Optional UV-enhanced illumination improves contrast between root structures and surrounding soil matrix, supporting enhanced visualization of root vitality differences under heterogeneous field environments.
